BEETLE
/XL-II
The high-end POS system - Just as versatile as retailing
is the BEETLE POS system family from Wincor Nixdorf.
Developed and designed for use in retailing and
the service sector, it offers the necessary functionality and flexibility
for modern IT POS solutions. The systems are based on standard
PC technology and combine this technology with tried-and-tested,
POS-specific features for the benefit of users.
The BEETLE /XL-II model is the high-end POS system
with the greatest expandability. Up to four I/O extension cards
can be accommodated in the system, thus ensuring sufficient reserves
for current and future requirements. Two hard disks, a floppy,
a CD-ROM/DVD and an additional 3.5" drive such as a backup streamer
can be configured as storage drives.
Loss of data is simply not allowable. The BEETLE
/XL-II offers the option of an integrated UPS. If the power fails
or the power lead is tampered with, this UPS ensures that there
is no uncontrolled system shut down and consequently there is no
loss of data. The POS system, including the peripherals powered
by the system, remains fully operational. Current transactions
can be completed and the system shut down properly.
The system offers the very latest PC technology
based on the Intel processors Celeron and Pentium III with the
Intel 815E chipset. For connecting peripherals, there is a wide
range of standard PC and retail-specific powered interfaces for
cash drawers, scanners, POS printers, touch screen, customer displays,
etc. via RS232 and USB.
The BEETLE /XL-II is the ideal system platform for
powerful Windows 32 and Linux-based applications with a graphic
user interface, as well as for touch and keyboard operation. The
system also has sufficient performance to be used as a store server
as well. At the same time, the system has a smaller footprint than
conventional PCs.

 FAFNIR - VISY-X Tank Guage
Level Gauging System
The VISY-X system supplies information on tank levels. As an electronic
dip system it serves for the protection of people and the environment.
VISY-X has been especially designed for application in petrol stations.
Each VISY-X system consists of 1 to 16 sensors VISY-Stick and a
conversion system VISY-Command.
